THE ANOINTING
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.â€
Isaiah 10:27
Main Text:
The anointing is the burden removing, yoke destroying power of God. The anointing doesn’t break the yoke it destroys it. Every believer has been given a measure of the anointing. The Greek words for anoint are chrio, which means “to smear or rub with oil” and by implication, to consecrate for office or religious service” and aleipho, which means “to anoint”. In time past, people were anointed with oil to signify God’s blessing or call on that person’s life. A person was anointed for a special purpose to either be a king, a prophet or a builder. Read 2 Kings 9:6.
Jesus Christ was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit to spread the Good News and free those who were under the oppression of the devil. Acts 10:38 “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” After Christ left the earth, He gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit (John 14:16). When you got baptized in the Holy Spirit, you became anointed and chosen for a specific purpose in the furthering of God’s kingdom.
The Holy Spirit within you is the anointing, and as you grow daily in Him, you will begin to grow daily in the anointing and fulfil God’s plan for your life. The anointing is the operation of the Holy Spirit within man, develop a relationship with God’s Spirit and He will smear you with all that He possesses.
Confession: I am anointed, the anointing resides in me, I have confidence to share the Good News with people, I excel in my occupation and business, I am a star! I choose to honor God, I am blessed!
