TRAIN YOUR SPIRIT!

“It has trained us to reject and renounce all ungodliness (irreligion) and worldly (passionate) desires, to live discreet (temperate, self-controlled), upright, devout (spiritually whole) lives in this present world.”
Titus 2:12 (AMP)
Main Text: Jude 20

When an athlete goes into training, he practices to improve his skill. He pushes himself to his limit, working hard and trying to break the status quo – he repeats the same motion over and over until they become what we’d call “a lifestyle” to him.

We all understand how crucial training is in the physical, we know we can’t be winners without it. It brings out the champion in us. However, did you know we can train ourselves that same way where spiritual things are concerned? Heb 5:14 “But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties have been trained by continuous exercise to distinguish good from evil.”

Scripture says we train our senses to discern between good and evil. When you train for something, you expose yourself daily to whatever it is you want to become. You practice t over and over again until it becomes second nature to you. Spending time with God is spirit practice. As you do it diligently, your spirit grows stronger and will start to overcome the habits of the flesh. Become a spirit athlete, put yourself in training to practice the things of God.

Confession: In the name of Jesus, I am strengthened in my inner man, I discipline myself to walk with God. I am not a sluggard, I am not slothful, I experience divine encounters with God. Amen.

For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ...
