SPEAK FAITH WORDS
“Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all, (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.”
Rom 4:16-17
Main Text: Main Text: Romans 4:20
Words hold extraordinary power, directing the course of our lives and framing the realities we experience. Consider the life of Abraham, who stands as a shining example of faith and perseverance. At the age of 75, he obeyed God’s call to leave his homeland and embark on a journey to an unknown destination (Genesis 12:1-4). Despite his advanced age and years of waiting, Abraham encountered a life-changing promise from God: that he would become the father of many nations.
In Genesis 17:5, God changed his name from Abram (exalted father) to Abraham (father of a multitude), declaring: “For a father of many nations have I made thee.” Even though the fulfillment of this promise seemed impossible by human standards, Abraham believed God. Romans 4:18 says he had faith "against hope," trusting God’s word over the natural impossibilities he faced.
Abraham’s unwavering faith was not passive. He continually aligned his confession with God’s promises. In Romans 4:20, we read: “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God.” This means that Abraham spoke faith-filled words, glorifying God for the fulfillment of the promise, even before seeing it come to pass. Similarly, God has spoken great things about us in His Word. Whether it’s promises of provision, health, purpose, or salvation, we must resist the temptation to doubt or waver.
Let us emulate Abraham, who against all odds believed and confessed God’s Word until the promise became a reality. Prosperity, healing, victory, and purpose begin in your mouth. As you speak faith-filled words, you activate God’s creative power to align your life with His divine plan.
