YOU ARE GOD’S BATTLE AXE 2

Thou art my battle axe and weapons of war: for with thee will I break in pieces the nations, and with thee will I destroy kingdoms
Jeremiah 51: 20
Main Text:

There are times when the devil tells you, as a sword in God’s hand, that you need to “rest”, “be quiet”, or “be still” Jeremiah 47:6. This counsel sometimes comes directly from the devil speaking to the heart of a believer; it can also come from the flesh or other people around you including fellow believers. The devil wants you to believe that you are doing too much for the Lord, you have fought hard and long enough for Him, nobody is working as hard as you are (not even your unit leader or your pastor), you need to slow down a bit. He will even want you to believe that you are irritating to the brethren around you; some people are wondering if you think that you are the only serious Christian around or if you think you are the only committed worker in the church. When the devil tells you anything like this through whatever means it is because he wants you to stop doing damage to his kingdom; he wants God to stop using you as His sword to stand against his interest. Do not let him get what he wants. What should be your response to wrong counsel in such time? Look at Jeremiah 47:7, “How can it be quiet...’ Remember that the people of Ashkelon were Philistines and so they were part of the enemies against whom the Lord fought as recorded in the scriptures. As His sword, God has given you a charge to fight against His enemies and you are to turn deaf ears to anyone who will try to stop you. Tell the devil that you are the Lord’s sword and that He put you where you are (children’s department, prayer team, sanitation department, protocol unit, choir, ushering unit, traffic control, etc) with a charge to keep fighting until He comes for you. You are saved to be God’s battle axe.

Prayer: Keep using me O Lord
