YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD

Light is that which brings illumination and clarity. Our opening scripture is Jesus talking. And He lets us know that we are the light of the world. Not just any light but His light. We read in John 1:4 “In him was life; and the life was the light of men” and then in verse 9, we see “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.”

This tells us that Jesus Christ is the true light, meaning that there are other lights but He is the one true light and when we receive Him, through eternal life, you bear witness to that Light. Jesus tell us in John 8:12 “...I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” You’re a light bearer and not only are you a light bearer, you are light yourself! Glory to God! You bring illumination and clarity to this world. Isaiah 60:1 NIV says “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.” When you are born again, the glory of God is already risen upon you because you are in Christ! Glory to God! You are given a charge to shine the light that is already within you! We read in verse 2 of Isaiah 60 that “...darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples...” 

You must know that the thicker the darkness, the more brightly your light should shine. You bring illumination into your world by telling of this gospel, the Bible says “The entrance of thy words giveth light...” Psalms 119:130 As a Christian, you are not supposed to live like the world. You have been called into something different. You should exude the glory of God wherever you go. Never be afraid, you bring clarity to a world of confusion! Glory to God!

Confession: I am the light of the world! In me is the true Light of Christ. I live above the frustrations and circumstances of this world because I shine forth! I exude the glory of God! Hallelujah.
