Quiet Time: Fellowshipping
“Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming back again is drawing near.”
Hebrews 10:25 (TLB)
Main Text: Main Text: Acts 2:42
Fellowshipping with one another is a crucial aspect of quiet time that many have taken for granted. The Apostle urges us not to grow weary of gathering together in church. Fellowship is a way to spend time with the Lord collectively, helping us grow and experience God more deeply in our personal devotional time.
True fellowship with others requires a oneness of heart, a shared bond that unites people: “Can two walk together unless they are agreed?” (Amos 3:3). At the core of fellowship is like-mindedness—those in fellowship must share common desires and goals. This is why Paul urges believers not to be “unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?” (2 Corinthians 6:14). Believers experience true fellowship through the Holy Spirit who indwells all who believe (John 14:17). This Spirit-enabled fellowship is unique, unlike any relationship we can have with those who do not know Christ.
The Greek word for “fellowship” in the New Testament is koinonia, meaning “partnership, sharing in common, or communion.” The essence of partnership is agreement and unity of purpose. Those in fellowship with God trust in Christ, have their sins forgiven, and are filled with the Spirit. They believe that God deserves to be glorified in all things and devote time to Bible reading and prayer, seeking “spiritual wisdom and insight so that [they] might grow in [their] knowledge of God” (Ephesians 1:17).
Confession:
I declare, I am committed to gathering with fellow believers, knowing that in unity, there is strength. I prioritize fellowship with the brethren, encouraging, supporting, and growing alongside them in faith. Together, we build each other up and glorify God as one body in Christ. My life is a testimony of God’s grace, and through my actions, words, and deeds, I bring glory to His Name. As I remain connected to the body of Christ, I continually grow in my faith, becoming a stronger and more mature Christian, equipped to fulfill God’s purpose for my life.
