DO NOT SAY YES TO YOUR FLESH
A little leaven leavens the whole lump
Galatians 5:9
Main Text:
Jesus, while praying to His Father on our behalf, said; “…they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world” John 17:14. Let’s look at it this way- there are sicknesses both in the world and in the church, we both experience accident, the barren are in the church as also in the world, etc.
The line is getting thinner and thinner. Infact, among our youths, we find many of them listening to the secular music much more. II Tim 3:6 and Jude 4 put it this way; for certain men crept in unnoticed…”
For the word, “creep” to be used, it means it happened gradually and unnoticed. The evil is really not in hearing those songs. This is why it’s possible for any believer to pick-up any secular song, listen to it and nothing would seem to happen. Your ears don’t get deafened, your heads don’t get bigger, neither will your speaking in tongues cease. But the word says “creep”. That is how a little leaven leavens the whole lump. Yielding to flesh is like a cancer, when left unattended to, it spreads across the parts of its victim. Beware of what sin can destroy in your destiny. Live a righteous life.
One of the reasons why we fall victim is the flesh yielding to carnality. It is very easy to get reformed by what we hear; either good or bad! We see believers who change figures in their places of work and still come to “lift up holy hands” still expecting the manifold actions of the Holy Ghost. The meaning of the warning in II Cor.6:14 is that if a believer does not depart from the sin, the Holy Spirit would depart his life.
We cannot keep doing the same thing the same way and expect positive different results. Until you stay faithful to God you will continue to struggle with holiness.
Prayer: Teach me to be always faithful to You, O Lord
