THE SPIRIT MAKES WILLING

“And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.”
Ex 35:21
Main Text: Main text: Zech 4:6

The willingness to serve God is not born of human effort but is ignited and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Throughout Scripture, we see how the Spirit moves within people, stirring their hearts, empowering their hands, and aligning their lives with God’s divine purpose. This willingness, born of the Spirit, enables believers to accomplish extraordinary works for God's glory.

In Exodus 35:21, the Israelites responded willingly to the call to build the tabernacle. Their hearts were stirred, and their spirits were moved to contribute their skills, resources, and time. This willingness was not coerced but inspired by the Spirit of God. This act of giving reveals a profound truth: when the Spirit works in our hearts, it produces a willingness to serve sacrificially. The stirring of the Spirit enables us to see beyond personal interests and align with God's kingdom agenda.

In Acts 1:8, Jesus promises the disciples that they will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them. This power transformed timid followers into bold witnesses who turned the world upside down with the message of the gospel. The Spirit not only made them willing to obey the Great Commission but also gave them the courage and strength to persevere in the face of persecution. This same Spirit is at work in us today, making us bold and willing to be Christ’s witnesses wherever we are. He overcomes fear, equips us with words to speak, and enables us to demonstrate God’s love through action.

Confession:

I declare, I yield completely to the Holy Spirit and remain sensitive to His leading. I walk in obedience, fulfilling God’s will for my life. Hallelujah!
