EVERY LUST IS A KILLER 2

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringieth forth death.
James 1:15
Main Text:

Every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust and enticed! Your temptations are always and mainly in the matters of your own lusts! Lust for money, fame, cars, attention, goods, latest fashion, electronic gadgets, mobile phones, computers, places, class etc. can be very devastating. “Behold, David loved Saul’s daughter,’’ Saul saw an opening in David’s lust for his daughter, and he gave David the onerous task of paying the bride price with 100 foreskins of the enemy, the Philistines. Because of David’s lust for Saul’s daughter, he brought 200 mature soldiers of the Philistines! Yet, the girl was given to someone else. I Sam 18: 24-27, and II Samuel 3:14. David still had to fall in love with Michal, another daughter of Saul. May your inordinate lust not land you in your enemy’s net in Jesus’ name.

In today’s further text, Gen 25:29-34, Esau loved food so much that he parted with his birth-right. In Genesis 27:38-39. We read of how Esau finally wept when Jacob took away the main chunk of Isaac’s blessings and left the crumbs for Esau. So bad he had lost it long ago in the place of food. Mark you this was the same temptation that the Devil first introduced to Jesus when he completed his forty days fast-food! So many of us lose our promotion in the place of food when we’re supposed to fast and pray we were busy feasting and partying.

Beloved, may you not eat up your own destiny in Jesus name. Lust can be very subtle; at times, lusts are spiritualized, stealthily entering into our prayer requests. Lust may betray you even during a powerful ministration. Lust may make you to push away the brothers so you can keep much longer hours with the sisters. Your lust for money makes you not to pay your debts how much more your offerings (Ps: 37-21).

Prayer: Lord, may the enemy not cage me with my lust in Jesus’ name.
