MY REFUGE AND FORTRESS
“I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.â€
Psalm 91:2
Main Text:
God is our defense and our only source of salvation. If He doesn’t help us, then we are in perpetual trouble. God is our refuge and this is the confidence and boldness we have in Him, that with God, all battles of life shall be conquered in His name. There’s no other way except the Lord for there is no other name by which we can be saved other than the name of Jesus. If your trust is in your earthly parents, you have only signed up for a shocker and eternal disappointment. There’s little any man on earth can do to defend you and to quench the fiery darts of the wicked. Staying constantly with the Lord guarantees you all round assurance of protection from every attack of hell and death. Remember the Lord’s name is Emmanuel which connotes that He’s with you.
David said: “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” (Psalm 91:2). Where is your trust and who do you believe? If God does not fight for you then you are already a loser. You must secure God’s attention concerning the situation warring against you and call Him by His name so that He will rescue you. If not for the Almighty hand of God, Joseph who journeyed from the pit to slavery in Potiphar’s house and eventually the prison would have died a commoner along the way. Joseph ended up as the prime minister in Egypt because God was with him. Is God with you my brother, are you on the Lord’s side my sister? Can you beat your chest and confess that the Lord is indeed your refuge and your place of habitation? Don’t allow yourself to be deceived by any man. No man on earth, no prophet can stand in the place of God for you. It’s either you have God or the devil is totally in charge.
Prayer: I will remain committed to you only my God
