SEASONED WORD OF GRACE

“Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”
Colossians 4:6
Main Text:

Speaking is one major activity of every human being and this we do on a daily basis to communicate, prove our points or to establish a matter. You cannot but utter a word in a day. Your message will go a long way and it’s necessary you understand that your words may not be the same as the interpretation in the heart and minds of the receivers. Therefore, we are advised of the Lord to make proper use of our tongue and to be correctly guided through the Holy Spirit. Jesus in His message to us says: “But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. ” Matthew 12:36.

Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.” (Colossians 4:6). Are you getting people blessed by your words or corrupting the environment through your unguarded moments and the misuse of your tongue? Your word has the capacity to make or mar. Wrong usage of the tongue has sentenced many in our world to untimely death while some landed in jail. People can be motivated to aspire to greatness and excellence if you will choose to be seasoned in your words.

Souls can be won for the Kingdom of our God if you will allow the Holy Spirit to control your tongue. “But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;” (Romans 10:8). You will account for every word from your lips therefore pay close attention to what you say to people and the kind of message you pass around. Don’t be a tale bearer or busybody. Refrain yourself from backbiting and evil words. “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth…” Ephesians 4:29.
Prayer: Father, help me never to be destroyed by my words.
