THE INFLUENCE OF STRANGE GODS
“Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments:â€
Genesis 35:2.
Main Text:
It’s been observed that many things on earth are taking the place of God in the lives of men in our present world of technology and civilization. Whatsoever takes your life, attention, time and devotion is either your god or God and will determine how fruitful you will be on earth. It’s important you search your life as a believer to be sure you are not acting or living under the influence of strange gods on the earth while pretending to be of God. You could be acting funny because of the little wealth you have. You can be stupidly devoted to fashion and worldly beauty without considering how badly these are separating you from God. Your hot chase for financial breakthrough by all means must be checked again and again if they’re in conformity with God. Earthly relationships and friendship could be the god taking the best of your time. You can be married to several occultic groups and covenants which are terminating the divine agenda of God for your future. Why not check your heart and life if there be some strange gods affecting the flow of divine touch in your life?
Jacob encouraged his entire household in Gen.35:2; “Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments.” You need to delete those gods from your heart and life if you will see and enjoy God on the earth. Your garment needs to be changed and this will bring about a new name. What name are you called at the moment? Are you not being likened to one of those gods of the heathen? Has it not been said that, football, movies, fashion, worldly music are the things you love to worship instead of the true and living God? The day you prefer any of those things to fellowship with God, your end is already defined.
Prayer: O Lord, I reject the activity of strange gods in my entire destiny
