WHEREÂ IS YOUR HEART? 2
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
Matthew 15:8 KJV
Main Text:
We looked at how relevant is the state of our heart in relating with God in our yesterday devotional. It’s therefore your effort and requirement to ensure your heart is in perfect shape in order to maintain an acceptable relationship with the God head. Paul was encouraging the Corinthians and he said: Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. 2 Corinthians 7:1.
The promises of God are just so much and the joy and rejoicing of your heart lie greatly in the fulfilment of these spoken and written Word of God. May you not miss your portion of His promises in Jesus mighty name.
You must be determined dearly beloved to be separated from everything that will corrupt your temple and change your focus following the only true God. The word is for your purification. Jesus prayed for us in John 17:17 and He said; Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. It’s the Truth that can make you free from the abounding lust of our time. Don’t joke with any of the counsel of God but let those words dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
You can’t maintain a good focus on the Almighty if you are not solely dependent on His Word. The Bible says; wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, II Corinthians 6:17. You heart is sensitive and can easily be corrupted except you separate yourself from the corruption in the land through effectual prayers, discipline and conscious effort. I want you to ask for the grace to concentrate on serving Jesus alone without any response to other earthly options.
Prayer: Father, please take my life and let it be consecrated unto you. Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise.
