WHAT OCCUPIES YOUR MIND?

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything
Philippians 4:8
Main Text:

Beloved of God, I know of a truth we long to know more of God in our daily living. In as much as we reverence God, praise Him, sing psalms and do His will, how rooted is God in our thoughts? Are there some other things appearing more important? God is still a jealous God,

It amazes me the kind of attention we place on our phones and electronic gadgets at the expense of our attention to God. How many of us can do without our mobile devices when we are praying or studying his Word?

A sister shared an experience I once shared in one of our past editions; my ordinary phone suddenly went blank one day and for a few minutes I realised that I wasn't myself without it. It felt like something was missing in my life. I did all I could to get it fixed and it suddenly dawned on me that if I could long for God’s Word the same way I longed to have my phone in perfect condition then I would never feel something amiss in my life. We can take up the same challenge to give more attention to God’s Word in year 2020 than we allow other things take priority over His Word in our life

As Christians, our life should revolve around Christ. In our daily activities, Jesus should be on our mind. When last did you feel missing fellowship with the beloved of Christ? But if your smart phone is lost now, the whole world would be turned upside down to find it.

I challenge you to have such passion for His word today and in 2020. Let the Word of God become so close to your mind that if you don’t read or study, you will feel some emptiness in your life.

Prayer: Let your thoughts always feel me more than any other things O Lord
