ABIDE IN ME

“If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”
John 15:6-7
Main Text: Main Text: John 15:10

The word "abide" means to conform, to follow, to dwell, and even to suffer. Jesus commanded us to abide in Him, and if we are to shine as the light of the world, the key is to remain in Christ. Jesus said, "If a man does not abide in Me, he will be cut off." This means that if we do not carefully follow Christ and are unwilling to suffer for His name’s sake, we risk being cast out. Abiding in Christ is not just about following Him in good times, but also in hardship.

Abiding in the Lord is a great privilege because when we do, we bear much fruit, and in doing so, we glorify God. God is honored when we remain in Him. Bearing fruit is one of the most important things we can do as believers, but the only way to achieve this is by forsaking the pleasures of this world and abiding in Christ. As John 15:8 says, "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples."

The goal of every child of God must be fruitfulness. Jesus planted us as seeds, and we must bear fruit to demonstrate our value in His kingdom. Just as a farmer casts out a seed that doesn’t yield, when we remain unproductive in the kingdom, Jesus will cast us out and replace us. Fruitfulness must be at the forefront of your agenda—you must dedicate yourself to evangelism and the work of winning souls. Don’t be a laid-back, selfish Christian; give yourself fully to the work of God.

Confession:

I declare, my heart is fully dedicated to the work of the Lord. I am committed to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone I encounter. As I labor in the Kingdom, I walk in the blessings and favor of God. My life is a testimony of His goodness, and I am prospered in all I do for His glory.
