BE CAREFUL NOT TO DENY YOURSELF
“… for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in Meâ€
John 14:30
Main Text:
An individual may constitute a covenant challenger to himself/herself. This can be done through the kind of seed that one sows. Bear in mind that everything you are doing today is being noted by the heavens– including every word spoken, every thought and imagination of the heart, and every action and reaction.. In Isaiah 41:21 the Lord says we should produce our cause and bring forth our strong reasons. As you and I are looking for what we can present to God to justify our request for His goodness to be shown to us, the accuser of the brethren is also looking for strong reasons with which to convince God to our disfavour, therefore beloved, we cannot afford to live as if sin has no repercussion. Let us all strive to have the same testimony as our Lord Jesus. Always bear in mind that your thoughts, words, and actions of today will turn out to be either covenant helpers or covenant challengers tomorrow. Remember that Satan contested for the body of Moses in Jude verse 9 just because Moses made one single mistake (Numbers 20:13). Heaven and hell are watching. Watch out too and don’t be a covenant challenger to yourself.
How do we avoid “Absalom” the covenant challenger? Simple. Stay close to the Spirit of God by His Word. In Isaiah 11:2 He is referred to as the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and knowledge. The more closely you walk with the Spirit of God the more difficult it becomes for the “Absaloms” of this world to succeed in their designs for you and for the covenant that the Lord has made with you. This is because the Spirit of God being the Spirit of knowledge knows everything and can expose “Absalom’s identity to you no matter how hard he tries to hide it.
Prayer: I will not become an hindrance to my covenant
