WHEN IT APPEARS GOD IS QUIET 2

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.”
Hebrews 10:35
Main Text:

Another thing you must not do when it appears God is quiet is speak against the Lord. No matter what we go through in life, God remains God and He remains good in all situations. The devil would want you to “curse God and die” as Job’s wife counseled her husband to do in Job 2:9. God deserves to be feared and honored.

You must not go back to the world, that is, you must not backslide. 2 Corinthians 4:18 says “… for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal”. The hardships, problems, failures, disappointments, etc. which we are seeing today are temporal while our eventual sojourn in heaven with the King of kings is eternal. So do not leave that path of righteousness which should lead you to heaven just because you have encountered problems that are only temporal. In several places, the Bible says “And it came to pass…”, “And it shall come to pass…” Whatever problem you are facing right now will someday become a thing of the past no matter how long it’s been with you in the name of Jesus, so you cannot give up on God now. You have already put your hand to the plough: please do not look back.

Luke 18:7-8 says “And shall not God avenge His own elect... I tell you He will avenge them speedily..?” Oftentimes we think that this scripture is only asking if Jesus will meet Christians who are waiting and ready to go with Him at His second coming. But it also refers to the time that God chooses to bring to you the blessing that you have trusted Him for; will He meet you still trusting Him or will He find that you have concluded that He’s never going to do it and so there is no need to keep on trusting? God in His own time will reward your confidence, faith, and trust in His promises.

Prayer: May I not fail You in all I do
