PRAYER – THE PLACE OF FAITH

“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. ...”
Mark 11:23-24 (NKJV)
Main Text:

One of the steps to effective praying is found in Mark 11:24. Jesus said “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (ESV) This places a condition on your prayer – you must believe you receive when you pray, you don’t have to wait until the manifestation, you must see it with the eyes of faith. Your attitude in prayer must be God said it, I believe it that settles it. Faith is key in prayer, and we know without it, we can’t please the Lord. Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (KJV) This may seem difficult initially, however, as you grow in God you will become convinced that His principles are true. God is not a liar, make a quality decision to believe His Word. If He says, “whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” You must believe it with the entirety of your being. Numbers 23:19. Where does faith come from? How do you get it? Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (NKJV) Romans 12:3 (ESV) According to the scriptures we see faith comes from the Word of God. Either the written or spoken word, faith is generated.

As believers we must consciously give ourselves to listening to and studying the word of God for therein lies our faith. We also see, God gave every believer a measure of faith, however, it’s left for us to develop that faith by spending time with the word. Just as we develop our physical muscles in the same vein, we are expected to build our faith by constantly exercising it. The application of your faith in any given situation is directly related to your knowledge of God. If you feel you need more faith, realize that you already have it. What you need is a more personal knowledge of God, through His Word.

Confession: I declare, I am fruitful, I enjoy tender love and favor, I am the head and not the tail, the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. I enjoy the fatness of the earth.

Prayer: I want to know more of you O Lord
