THE POWER OF WISDOM

“And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art”
Gen 41:38-39
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: Genesis 41:25-36

The great world power, Egypt, was on the brink of a severe economic depression. Pharaoh, troubled by an enigmatic dream, found himself without answers. None of his magicians or wise men could provide an interpretation. In this moment of crisis, the insufficiency of the spirit of the world was exposed, as even the spirit of Satan could not unveil the meaning of Pharaoh’s dream.

However, Pharaoh himself testified of Joseph, saying he was a man in whom the Spirit of God dwelled. This is a powerful reminder of the unique wisdom that comes from God alone. Isaiah 11:2 highlights the sevenfold manifestations of the Spirit of God: “And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.”

Upon closer examination, we observe that six of these manifestations pertain to the mind, emphasizing wisdom, understanding, counsel, and knowledge. Only one relates to power, showing the primary role of divine wisdom in addressing life’s challenges.

When we receive and yield to the Holy Spirit, we gain access to this divine wisdom, enabling us to solve problems that human intellect cannot fathom. Joseph is a striking example of this truth. By the wisdom of the Holy Spirit, he provided solutions to a national crisis, transitioning from a lowly prisoner to Egypt’s prime minister. Genesis 41:41-43 captures this moment: “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt.” Divine wisdom is a transformational force. When we align ourselves with the Holy Spirit, we can unlock solutions, elevate our lives, and make an impact far beyond what human effort alone can achieve.

Confession:

I declare, I yield completely to the Holy Spirit and embrace His transformative power at work in my mind. My thoughts are aligned with His purpose, and my actions reflect His will. I have the wisdom of God, and I operate with divine understanding in all things. I have the mind of Christ, and through Him, I excel in life and fulfill my God-given destiny. Amen!

Dan 1:19-20 “And the king communed with them; and among them all was found none like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah: therefore stood they before the king. And in all matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all his realm.”

Eccl 7:11-12 “Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
