SERVE GOD FERVENTLY
“Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.”
Romans 12:11 (NIV)
Main Text: Main text: Psalms 2:11
Serving God is a beautiful expression of intimacy and love for our heavenly Father. Romans 12:11 calls us to be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord with all our heart. The term "fervent" denotes a passionate intensity, suggesting that our devotion to God should be marked by enthusiasm and energy. This fervor is crucial in our spiritual walk. When we serve God with passionate intensity, we demonstrate our deep commitment and desire to honor Him in everything we do. Our spiritual "fire" should never diminish; it should continuously burn with the fuel of our service, devotion, and love for God. Leviticus 6:12 “The fire on the altar must be kept burning; it must not go out. Every morning the priest is to add firewood and arrange the burnt offering on the fire and burn the fat of the fellowship offerings on it." In this context, firewood symbolizes our service, the daily acts of devotion and dedication that keep the flame alive. By adding firewood—our consistent service, prayer, study, and worship—we maintain the fire on the altar, ensuring it doesn't go out. This continuous effort represents our ongoing commitment to serve God with all our heart and with fervor. When our fire burns brightly, it not only strengthens our relationship with God but also illuminates the path for others to follow. Confession: I love the Lord, I serve Him with my whole heart! I enjoy serving in the House of God, at my office and my personal life! The Lord is my King of Old and I serve Him all my days.
