BEWARE OF LITTLE SINS III
“… The Lord is with you, while ye be with Him; and if ye seek Him, He will be found of you; but if ye forsake Him, He will forsake you.â€
II Chronicles 15:2
Main Text:
The fact that you are anointed does not mean that God will use you for every work available, most likely not. Learn from the error of King Uzziah of Judah whom God had helped and strengthened. II Chronicles 26:16-19 says, “But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the Lord… and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God. Then Uzziah was wroth... and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord…” Avoid being over knowledgeable (over sabi)
Another thing you must do is continually thirst and ask for more of God’s anointing. In Isaiah 44:3 the Lord says He will pour water upon those that are thirsty. If you are not thirsty for more of His anointing you will remain with only what you have.
Being too busy, even with ministry work, can drain the anointing. You need to take out time to be alone with God. John 4:6 says, “… Jesus therefore, being wearied with His journey, sat thus on the well…” Form the habit of regularly “sitting on the well” and drinking to your soul’s satisfaction. There are times when a believer needs to draw near to the Lord all alone as He asked Moses to do in Exodus 24:2. Personal retreats are very profitable in retaining and increasing the oil. Jesus our Father did retreat to be renewed and the Bible says, the angels ministered to Him.
Prayer: Keep my lamp burning in You O Lord
