DON’T FALL FOR GREED

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
Proverbs 15:27
Main Text:

A common problem in the world today is the problem of greed. According to Proverbs 1:10-19, the greedy will stop at nothing in their bid to get rich quicker at all cost; all they are focused on is their self and nothing must stop them from getting result. A greedy person does not mind shedding innocent blood. A case of a missing child somewhere in a church in the South West was all about greed. All those who are into advanced fee fraud commonly known as 419 and Yahoo plus, are driven by greed. Similarly those who engage in smuggling and profiteering – who obtain excessive profits are motivated by greed. Greed makes people to over-value the worth of their products or services. Quite a number of contractors who make supplies to governments and even to churches are guilty of greed. They inflate the prices of their goods sometimes charging even more than 100 percent and some still will use inferior materials. No wonder the high rate of collapsed buildings being recorded recently.

Greed is not an element of divine life. It is far from it. As a matter of fact, it prevents the enjoyment of divine life you are supposed to enjoy. Beloved, you have to get rid of it before it gets rid of you.

A greedy person does not care if the Word of God rebukes him or not. Are you greedy? What effect has greed had on your life as a believer? The only way out is still the Word of God. The Bible says in the book of Romans 12:1, KJV: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Don’t be blinded by greed. It doesn’t portray your true identity in Christ, it is a carnality of the highest order. Get baptized with the Holy Spirit.

Prayer:  I am holy the seed of holiness is in me therefore I will not be greedy
