A NEW YOU
“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.â€
2 Corinthians 3:18
Main Text:
Christianity is not just another religion, it is the life of God abiding within and flowing out of the believer. Other religions leave you the same person you were before, but the marvelous thing about the Christian life is that it will completely transform you.
When you are born again, your spirit is instantly transformed into the image of God. You spirit takes on the nature of God. According to God’s word, the moment you accept Christ you become a new person and your mind begins the renewal process. 2 Cor 5:17 “Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (AMP)
Your soul is your mind, will, and emotions. Spiritual growth is determined by how much your soul is changed by the Word of God. The more of the Word you feed on, the more you conform to the image of Jesus. After becoming a Christian, the scriptures instruct you to “put on the new man…” (Eph 4:24) This means that your soul and body take on the same image that is in your spirit. This happens through the process of changing your mind, your will, and your emotions to understand and walk in the ways of God.
Confession: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, I put on the new man, therefore, I am transformed. I have authority over the flesh, sickness and diseases. I am blessed, glory to God!
