DO YOU LOVE THE LORD?
"But you walked away from your first love — why? What's going on with you, anyway?”
Revelation 2:4-5 (MSG)
Main Text: 1 John 4:19
Think back to your younger days when you were chasing that honey in your high school, university or business organization. You were engrossed by her presence, you were high by the words she spoke, you wanted to be where she was. you necessarily didn’t have anything to say to her, you probably weren’t heading in her direction, but you wanted to be in her presence. This is exactly how we should desire to be in God’s presence.
A yearning for His presence is proof that you love the Lord. The scripture teaches that Christ is our first love, therefore, it’s important we relate with God not just as a master but as the lover of our soul.
Take a self-test to gauge your love walk. When was the last time you spent time in His presence? When last did you relate with Him in sweet words of melody? His heart is always for you even if you’ve wandered away from the closeness of that relationship. As you turn your affection back to Him, you’ll discover He never left.
Confession: I love the Lord with all my being, my heart, my treasure and all that pertains to me. I am of God and I put Him first, I set Him foremost. I obey His words, and I do them. I treasure the Lord with all that pertains to me in Jesus name.
