QUICKENED BY THE SPIRIT
“For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.”
1 Peter 3:18
Main Text: Main text: Romans 8:11
The term "quickened" in the Greek language means to make alive or to give life. When Jesus suffered and died for us, He made us righteous and restored us to our original flourishing condition. God's quickening in our lives can manifest in various ways. Through His power, we can be quickened or revived from sickness, discouragement, fear, and even death. Jesus, who declared Himself as the Life (John 14:6), possesses the power to grant life to us: "For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth them; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will" (John 5:21, KJV). The Holy Spirit also gives life: "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing" (John 6:63, KJV).
When Jesus suffered and died for us, He not only secured our righteousness but also restored us to a state of spiritual vitality. This quickening is a continuous process that impacts every facet of our lives. Through the power of God, we can experience revival from various forms of spiritual death, such as sickness, discouragement, fear, and even physical death.
The Holy Spirit is also central to this process of quickening. John 6:63 (KJV) states, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing." This verse underscores the indispensable role of the Holy Spirit in imparting life. While our flesh is incapable of producing true spiritual vitality, the Holy Spirit invigorates us, enabling us to live in alignment with God's purposes. Decide in your heart to be in sync with the Holy Spirit and experience the quickening power of the Lord.
Confession:
I declare, I am quickened in my spirit by the Lord and by His Word, I experience the tremendous power of God and walk in the fullness of life.
