DOING THE WORK OF AN EVANGELIST
“But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.”
2 Tim 4:5
Main Text: Main Text: 2 Tim 4: 1-5
Every Christian has been called to preach the Word, both in season and out of season. We must be convincing in our preaching, ensuring that the message resonates with our audience. The word "preach" is synonymous with "cook"; we must prepare the Word thoughtfully and present it in a way that nourishes the hearers. We must be dedicated to evangelism and soul winning. How can we not be passionate about telling the lost world about Jesus Christ? It is sheer wickedness to possess the key to eternal life and see a dying person without sharing the way to salvation. We have a responsibility to proclaim the gospel and guide others to the path of eternal life.
Doing the work of an evangelist simply means “doing gospel work.” It cannot be overemphasized that we must preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. We must tell the world about the One who died for the entire world. Dedicate yourself to "cooking" the Word—preparing it thoughtfully and presenting it compellingly—to transform the lives of people. By doing so, we fulfill our calling and make a lasting impact on those who hear the message of salvation.
Preach the Word! Do it instantly and bring souls to salvation! Make a conscious decision to make God happy by actively sharing the gospel. Don’t just be a receiver of His grace—be a giver by spreading His message of hope and salvation to others.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the call to preach Your Word. Empower me with Your Holy Spirit to share the message of salvation with boldness and love. Help me to live a life that reflects the truth of the gospel and to speak Your Word with integrity and conviction. May my life and my words bring glory to Your Name and lead others to the knowledge of Your saving grace. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
