CHRIST HAS REDEEMED US FROM THE CURSE

Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree’’)
Galatians 3: 13
Main Text:

Generational curses baffle many a family. Some illnesses or misfortunes run through families. Jacob placed a curse on Reuben and Simeon and Levi. (Gen. 49:5-7). However, in Num. 3; 6-12, God said Levi should be brought near and dedicated to Him taking the place of first born, of course in the earlier order, he was the third in rank but came from behind to be the first. Some first born opened their mothers’ womb. Other firstborns like Levi were chosen by God, not because of their hierarchy in birth. Jacob had cursed Levi that he would be scattered. That curse was working until the day God chose Levi.

Moses, in our today’s further text, had gone up to meet God. On his return, the people were worshiping idols. Moses was angry. He called out for anyone on the Lord’s side. The children of Levi volunteered. Levi is one tribe out of twelve. God looked down from heaven, He was impressed. He chose Levi to be His priests because they had chosen to stand up for God. God is a God that rewards good reciprocals.

Beloved, the message here is that any generational curse can be reversed. Your presence as a true believer in your family is enough for curses to cease working on every member of your household. The Bible says we are the light of the world. What that means is that darkness cannot stand where we shine.

Are you born again? If you are, then curses must not run over you any longer for the blood of Jesus blot out every negative impression in us.

Christ has redeemed you from the curse of the law (Gal. 3; 13). Walk in the light of God and darkness shall dispel.

Prayer: Lord, take away all my generational curses today in Jesus’ name.
