WHEN HEAVEN HONOURS YOUR NAME

And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him
Genesis 5:24
Main Text:

When God honors you, men will also honor you and want to identify with you. If you go through the books of Kings and Chronicles you will notice there were several of the kings of Israel and Judah who walked contrary to the will of God and there were those who honored Him with their life. In II Kings 3 Jehoram the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went to see Elisha the man of God to make an enquiry. When Jehoram spoke to Elisha the latter responded by saying in verse 14, “… As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee.” In other words, Jehoshaphat was honorable in the sight of the man of God and it was only for his sake that he even admitted the other king into his presence.

What was it that made Jehoshaphat honorable before God and man? II Chronicles 17:3-6, “And the Lord was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and sought not unto Baalim; but sought to the Lord God of his father, and walked in His commandments, and not after the doings of Israel… And his heart was lifted up in the ways of the Lord…” Jehoshaphat was righteous.

Jehoram, on the other hand, had this report about him in II Kings 3:1-3, “Now Jehoram the son of Ahab… wrought evil in the sight of the Lord; … he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat...”

I beseech you today beloved, whatever that will erase your name before God’s record should not be attached to you. Keep the prevailing Word of God alive in your heart, obey Him, and follow His path together with your household. Don’t allow sin to ruin your destiny in this 2018.

Prayer: The heavens will remember me for good
