DON’T BE A STUMBLING BLOCK2
...the soul that sinneth, it shall die.â€
Ezekiel 18:4
Main Text:
Great to see you continue from where it ended yesterday. You teach them to be ready to pay any price for a deep knowledge of God, but they are the ones that have to not only remind but also talk you into attending having fellowship with God because, after spending the day at work you are tired and reluctant to go to church.
By constantly doing the opposite of what you are teaching your children from the scriptures, you are confusing them, destroying their sense of right and wrong, and putting them in darkness. You create in them an inner struggle that may push them to eventually rebel against God and also against you, the author of their confusion. Some children would rather do their own will than care about God’s because the same people that teach them to please God displease Him all the time. And if your children can cite you as their reason for being nonchalant towards God, you are a stumbling block to their spiritual wellbeing. You need to repent, go into a period of fasting and prayer, and cry until God delivers you.
Many Christians look up to their pastors, Sunday school teachers, deacons and leaders etc., as examples of what good Christian conduct should be. So if as a preacher/teacher of the Word you are living a life that negates your own teaching, you are hurting the conscience of your followers, and Jesus said that the consequence for doing that is worse than being thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around one’s neck.
As parents, teachers of the Word, etc. we all need to pay serious attention to Romans 2:19-24 NIV“… you are a guide for the blind, a light for those who are in the dark, an instructor of the foolish, a teacher of infants … you, then, who teach others, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal? You who say that people should not commit adultery, do you commit adultery…?
Prayer: Let fire destroy any form of destiny destroyers in my life
