JESUS IS WORTH EVERYTHING

“For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.”
Matt 16:25
Main Text: MAIN TEXT: Luke 9:23

Jesus Christ is worth everything! I have never known a better friend than Jesus. While we are called to honor our parents, they are not as important as Jesus. While we are called to love our spouses or submit to our husbands, neither is as important as Jesus Christ. People can disappoint you, and a spouse may even file for divorce, but Jesus promises to be with you always, even to the end of the age. Your career, too, pales in comparison to the worth of Jesus. I tell you; Jesus Christ is worth everything!

The words of Jesus Christ are absolute and don’t come from human reasoning, but from divine revelation. Jesus said, "If you lose your life for My sake, you will gain it." This means that to truly live out our faith in God, we must be willing to lose—whether it’s friends, family, money, reputation, or more. The words of Jesus are everything! He has called us to lose, and in doing so, we find the surest path to true life.

Sometimes, we are willing to sacrifice our God-given purpose to please others. Some have even forsaken the call of God because of their spouse. But remember, saving your life is not the path to eternal life—you must be willing to lose. If you are not prepared to lose, you are not prepared to be a Christian. Christianity is not just about living righteously; it’s also about suffering, losing, and dying to self and to the world. This is the cost of true discipleship.

Confession:

I declare, I am not attached to the things of this world. I willingly lay down everything, knowing that Jesus is worth far more than all earthly gain. I seek Him above all else, and I count everything as loss for the surpassing worth of knowing Him.
