WHAT OCCUPIES YOUR THOUGHTS?
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthyâ€
Philippians 4:8
Main Text:
Beloved of God, I know of a truth we long to know more of God in our daily living. In as much as we reverence God, praise Him, sing psalms and do His will, how much of God is in our thoughts? Are there some other things appearing more important? God is still a jealous God,
It amazes me how much importance is placed on our phones and gadgets. I mean how many of us can do without our mobile devices?
A sister shared an experience with me; my phone suddenly went blank one day and for a few minutes I realised that I wasn't myself without it. It felt like something was missing in my life.
I did all I could to get it fixed and it suddenly dawned on me that if I could long for God the same way I longed to have my phone in perfect condition then I would never feel something amiss in my life.
As Christians, our life should revolve around Christ. In our daily activities, Jesus should be on our mind even if it's in your subconscious. When last did you feel missing fellowship with the beloved of Christ? But if your smart phone is lost now, the whole world would be turned upside down to locate it.
I challenge you to have such passion for His word today. Let the Word of God become so close your mind that if you don’t read or study, you will feel some emptiness in your life. The Psalmist said His word he hid in his heart so as not to sin against God.
If God can be as important to you as your devices especially, your expensive phones, then imagine how important you will also be in His eyes.
Prayer: Let your mind always feel me more than any other things O Lord
