AVOID LAWLESSNESS (SIN)
“Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness.â€
I John 3: 4
Main Text:
When God created man to be in the Garden of Eden, He expected man to live like Him. Unfortunately, the devil came and caused man to sin so that man could be in the same fallen state as him (Satan) was. Since this time, man started having sinful nature. It is a dangerous thing to live your life without God’s standard, by which you easily discern sin. Spiritual laws, like physical laws, are meant to protect you, not restrict you. You may exercise your freedom to challenge the laws of the land when denied, but not for the perfect law of liberty, the result is death when you sin. The wages of sin is death.
No correct believer will break God’s laws. God established absolute moral and spiritual laws that we are free to ignore, but we do so at our own peril. These laws are timeless. Culture does not supersede them. Circumstances do not reduce their efficiency. God’s laws are eternal, and they will save you from death if you follow them.
Although, many things changed when Jesus came and died. When the angel showed up to Joseph the earthly father of Jesus, he announced about Mary, saying; “and she will bring forth a son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins”- Matthew 1: 21. So, Jesus basically came to save the world from sin and restore the lost glory.
As believers, when we sin, we should bear in mind that God sees sin as rebellion or lawlessness against Him. It’s like an abuse of grace 1 John 5: 18 assures that “we know that whosoever is born of God does not sin …” Continuing in sin is simply making ridicule of our salvation.
Beloved, keep the Word of God alive so that the seed of sin will not have effect on you- 1 John. 3: 9. Remember, the soul that sin shall die. God loves you still.
Prayer: Father, search me through and wash me by the precious blood of Your Son in Jesus’ name.
