CHOOSE LIFE

“For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;”
Romans 8:6 (WEB)
Main Text: Colossians 3:3

If you were given the choice between life and death, which would you choose? Obviously, you would choose life. However, this is not the case, most people choose death. You see, choosing death doesn’t necessarily mean jumping off the nearest cliff. It’s subtler than that.

The scripture says death is being carnally minded, being entangled in this present worldly realm. The Bible also tells us what life is; proverbs 4:20-22 “my son, give attention to my words.... for they are life.”

If we consider Mary and Martha, it’s safe to say that Mary chose life while Martha choose the cares of this world — death. You might murmur, Apostle, if I don’t spend enough time taking care of my business, my life will crumble! This is exactly what Martha thought, don’t make that same mistake. Don’t get so entangled with this world that you set aside the Word of God — life!

Confession

I choose not to worry today. I cast all my cares, worries and concerns on You Lord, because I know You love me. I trust you to provide all my needs and to help work out the details of my life. I choose life in Jesus name. Amen.
