WHAT DO YOU WANT?
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to "
Matthew 7:7 NIV
Main Text:
What do you want of me? With this simple question, a blind man caught his miracle. When we study this scenario, we see this a very powerful principle of prayer. For our prayers to be effective, it must be specific. In order to answer your prayers, God has to know exactly what you want. Mark 10:51-52 "Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The man replied, “My Master, please, let me see again! Jesus responded, “Your faith heals you. Go in peace, with your sight restored. “All at once, the man’s eyes opened and he could see again, and he began at once to follow Jesus, walking down the road with him." (TPT). We have to be specific in our petitions to God. James 4:2 "Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not." (KJV)
The major reason our petitions aren't granted is either because we ask amiss or we don't ask at all. We need to know the best way to pray to God is to pray in line with His word. Specific prayers receive specific answers. Here are some guidelines which will help you pray specifically and effectively;
To begin with, go to the Father in the name of Jesus and make your request known, then believe you receive when you pray, and if you have any hurt against any, forgive. (Mark 11:24-25). Secondly, stand on the promises of God. Remember God's promise to us are ye and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20) get scriptures that tally with your request and be specific. Thirdly, be patient! James 1:4 "But let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking in nothing." (KJV) Psalm 37:7 "Be silent before the LORD and wait expectantly for him" (CSB). As long as your prayer lines up with God's word, He will answer at the right time. 1 John 5:14-15
Confession: Glory to God, I am blessed, my needs are met, I have plenty more to put in store. My petitions are granted in Jesus name.
Prayer: I receive answers to my requests
