PECULIAR PEOPLE1
For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.
Deuteronomy 14:2 KJV
Main Text:
I am a special breed and a peculiar people unto the Lord my God. That’s who God calls you and I to be. He’s saying it through His word that you are His own personal person. His love for you makes you so special and He can’t but take good care of you. He has separated you unto Himself through the blood of His Son Jesus Christ. The name you bear in God makes all the difference and you are far better than others who dwell continually in sinful life. He calls you the light of the world as recorded in Mathew 5v14. This means you are expected to shine out in the midst of the darkness and obscurity of the world. You are not created for darkness or cultism. You are fashioned to live in the light and to remain on the Lord’s side. He also said you are a city set on the hill that cannot be hidden. You carry a lovely status through redemption and these names are enough to make you stay permanently on the Lord’s side. You won’t need to look to the right or to the left. Jesus whom you have chosen to follow is the way, the truth and the life. As you continue to identify with Him, you will remain relevant in God and also a praise to His. 1 Peter 2:9.
The challenge before you now is about what you call yourself and those you chose to identify with. You must remember to stay far away from anything and everything that will turn your glory to shame and cause you to lose all the blessings He has in mind for you through the redemption. What are you calling yourself?
Prayer: Help me to continually trust in you O Lord
