ANOTHER COMFORTER

“And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever.”
John 14:16
Main Text:

The phrase translated “another comforter” in the above verse is called Allos Parakletos in the Greek. ‘Allos” is a Greek word which means “another” and “Parakletos” which means “comforter”. In the Greek language, there’s another word that can be used to translate “another” and that is “Heteros”.  Jesus chose to use Allos in describing the Holy Spirit as a comforter rather than Heteros and the reason is this; Heteros means “another of a different kind” while Allos means “another of the same kind”. By calling the Holy Spirit Allos, Jesus was simply saying the Holy Spirit was exactly like Him. The Holy Spirit is exactly like Jesus, and we cannot have a fruitful Christian walk without the Holy Spirit. We need Him to guide us into all truths, we need Him to amplify our skills, we need Him to have fellowship with the Father. He desires to fellowship with us much more than we want to fellowship with Him. He desires to be our best friend and I make boast to say the Holy Spirit is closer to you than the clothes you are wearing. He desires to relate with you and show you great and mighty things you know not of (John 16:13).

Without the Holy Spirit, our Christian walk will be boring. It was feel so powerless, struggle in prayer will be inevitable. Jesus gave us His Spirit so we can always walk in victory, without the Holy Spirit we can’t walk in this victory. God wants best for you and he released unto you His Creative Spirit take advantage of that. Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

Confession

I am a believer, therefore, I have the Holy Spirit, I hear his voice and obey Him always. Jesus loves me, God loves me, I am not comfortless, glory to God my Father.
