TRUST IN THE LORD
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.â€
Jeremiah 17:5 (NKJV)
Main Text:
To trust in the Lord means more than believing in who He is and what He says. The word trust here connotes “to have confidence in”. Having confidence in something means having an assurance that leads to action. Trusting in the Lord is a faith that lets us serve boldly.
When we lean on our own understanding, we trust our own knowledge and discernment to support us through life. However, as new creatures in Christ Jesus, we develop our trust in God by meditating on scriptures, time in prayer and companionship with other believers.
When we study Jeremiah 17:8, we see the benefit of trusting God. “For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” Those who trust in the Lord can never be put to shame! For their hope is in the Lord.
Confession: I trust in the Lord and He directs my path! My path shines brighter and brighter! My hope is in the Lord! I am triumphant! In Jesus name.
