THERE IS TIME TO EVERYTHING IN LIFE
to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Main Text:
There are times when to do one thing or the other. For instance, verse 5 of the above text tells us that there is a time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together. Ecclesiastes 8:9 even tells us that there is a time when one man rules over another to his own hurt. Even, according to the book of Proverbs 26:4-5, there is time to answer and there is time to be quiet. There is an appropriate time for everything, the unpleasant as well as pleasant experiences. This is not merely a description of what happens in life; it is a description of what God said.
This calls for everyone to be careful and for those of us who are believers to depend on the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our every step especially at every period we find ourselves.
Now we occasionally receive counsels from other people – fellow believers, family members, friends, neighbors, etc. – in different areas of our lives. Some of these counsels are solicited while others are not. If we follow some of the counsels we receive – solicited or unsolicited – they move us forward, helping us to move closer to accomplishing the purpose of God for us in one or more areas of our lives. Some other counsels, if followed, will lead a person to trouble either with God or with man. It is therefore very important that as Christians we exercise great caution in deciding whom to go to for counsel. This brings us again to the importance of walking in the Spirit and letting the Spirit of God lead us in every decision we’re faced with in life. We should also depend on Him to tell us what to do with every solicited/unsolicited counsel that is given to us, since He knows the end of a thing from the beginning. Get to know more of the word at every moment in your life.
Prayer: Holy Spirit of God keep guiding me
