THE GIVING GRACE
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. â€
Luke 6:38
Main Text:
The idea of giving in faith is dependent on us giving with a good heart. If we act in faith thinking we’ve come upon some spiritual get-rich-quick scheme, I’m sorry. God loves us too much to crush us under the weight of wealth if our characters can’t handle it. He loves us too much to hurt us and harm us in that way.
The word of Christ on giving is more than an advice, it’s a commandment for every true believer. It’s no more news that you will reap whatsoever you sow. Therefore, as the Lord has commanded giving, I’m persuading you to yield your heart to the Lord in sharing part of what God has given you. It is in giving that you qualify for receiving.
Every blessing of God in your life is for the purpose of expanding the kingdom. Both spiritual and physical blessings of the Lord are to be used to make better the life of everyone in contact with you and also the spreading of the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ. If you don’t want to remain poor or at the receiving end only, you need to cultivate the act of giving. You are not a giver when you have much, giving starts from the little you have in your custody. Remember the story of that widow and prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17:9-14, this poor widow offered unto the man of God the very little and her last meal. That was the end of her season of lack because God turned her situation around. This will be your testimony of change in Jesus name.
Beloved, just take a look at your environment, church and family, you will discover so great a number of people to whom God is sending you as a source of blessing.
Prayer: O Lord, baptise me with the grace to give freely according to your word
