MINISTERING TO THE LORD (4)
“Inside the tent the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. Afterwards Moses would return to the camp, but the young man who assisted him, Joshua (son of Nun), stayed behind in the Tabernacle.â€
Ex 33:11 (TLB)
Main Text:
There are times when our ministry to the Lord simply means to stand, abide, continue, remain, and tarry or to just stay up at night in His presence. Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, is a typical example. He was a warrior who had the heart of a servant and the life of a worshipper. He lingered in God’s presence even after His master had left.
In contemporary times, we have the Holy Ghost within us, the carrier of His presence, as we cultivate and build our relationship with Him, we will minister to the Lord with ease. To Linger means, to remain or stay in a place longer than usual/expected, to be slow to act, to pass a period of time slowly. Lingering in God’s presence, will always cause you to have a revelation of God’s heart and what He is about to do. Spending time in His presence gives you inside information.
In His intimate fellowship with Abraham, in a mysterious way, without mentioning Lot’s name, God revealed His heart’s desire; Abraham’s purpose in standing before the LORD was to intercede for Lot. (Gen 18:22).
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, let our hearts be flooded with light so that we can see the marvelous future You have called us to share. (Eph 1:18)
