THE GREAT EXCHANGE 1

“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses) and carried our sorrows and pains [of punishment], yet we [ignorantly] considered Him stricken, smitten, and afflicted by God [as if with leprosy].”
Isaiah 53:4 (AMP)
Main Text:

Your days of sickness, diseases and poverty are over. Jesus died on the cross over 2000 years ago so that you could be free from the shackles of bondage, poverty and all the wiles of the devil. His death on the cross was no fun story, it was serious business. Scripture says He himself took our infirmities, sickness and diseases, poverty in order for us to live the victorious life. He took upon himself every vile thing, and gave us His glory.

The phrase “The Great Exchange” captures what happened during Jesus’ death and resurrection. It communicates that Jesus did more than pour out His life to pay the penalty of sin. He actually was made sin for us, so that we no longer become sinners but rather the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. 2 Cor 5:21 “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

To understand how all-encompassing, The Great Exchange truly was, we have to realize that the word sin there doesn’t refer to what we’d normally think of as religious errors. It includes everything in our lives that falls short of the glory and perfection of God’s original design. (Romans 3:23) if you want to see that original design, look back at the Garden of Eden. What you’ll find is a man and a woman living in unbroken relationship with Almighty God, untouched by sickness, grief or poverty and exercising dominion over the whole earth.

Confession: I enjoy divine health, sickness and disease has no place in my body. I am blessed, I am prosperous, I have more than enough and I lend to nations!
