IT PAYS NOT JUST A HEARER, BUT A DOER 1
“But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.â€
James 1:25
Main Text:
(Be at our Special Cantata 2019 service by 9am tomorrow.)
As a parent, I give so many instructions to my children at home. What gets at me most times is when they refuse to do or carry out my instructions. To be sincere, I got rapt attention from them whenever I speak to them but quite shocking to see that sometimes, there is no corresponding action to prove their obedience.
Beloved, you have heard times without number that it’s not the hearers of the word of God that will be blessed but the doers. Doing the word comes with correct application of the written and spoken word to address all issues of your life and destiny. The effect of God’s word cannot be overemphasized and this only relates to those who care to meditate and do.
Just imagine if as a man I got annoyed that my own children fail to carry out my words, how much more God! The fact that God is merciful makes a great difference and that is why God’s anger can never be eternal for He is always waiting for us to come unto repentance. Learn to be a doer, not just hearing will show you believe His Word but when you apply it to your situations.
Jesus is the word of God. That’s why He’s applicable to all areas in our lives. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1.
Hearing the doctor talks cannot do anything to the smallest sickness like headache UNLESS you ACT fast on the doctor’s instructions. How many times have you acted on the Word of God? What is the Lord saying concerning your life this 2019? How prepared are you to take His Word of life come 2020? The volume of the Word you act on will deliver you all the way.
Prayer: O Lord, help me to dig deeper into your word that I may behold wondrous things out of your commands.
