WHO IS JESUS? (2)
“And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?â€
Matthew 21:10 (KJV)
Main Text:
At the heart of Christianity is the central question, “who is Jesus Christ?” In John 10:30, Jesus said “I and my Father are one.” This might not seem to be a claim to be God at first glance, however, look at the Jews reaction to His claim, “we are not stoning you for any of these, but for blasphemy because you a mere man claim to be God.” Jesus never corrects the Jews by saying “I did not claim to be God” that indicates Jesus was saying He was God by that declaration.
In John 8:58, Jesus said, “before Abraham was born, I am” Jesus announcing His identity as “I AM” is a direct application of the Old Testament name for God (Ex 3:14). John 1:1 says “the Word was God”, John 1:14 says “the Word became flesh”. This clearly indicates that Jesus is God in the flesh. Thomas declares my Lord and my God (John 20:28) Jesus does not correct him. The apostle Paul describes him as “Our great God and savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13).
Jesus is the Son of God and our loving Savior, He lived to teach us and He suffered and died to have us from sin and death. Because of Jesus, we can be forgiven, we can overcome challenges, and we can live with God again someday.
Confession: I am righteous because of what Jesus has done, I am an heir of God, I have an inheritance with God, I blessed and prosperous, I advance in life and there’s no stopping me! Hallelujah!
