THE POTENCY OF PREVAILING PRAYER

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Mark 11:24
Main Text: Main text: Colossians 4:2

One of the major ways to establish ordinances is through the altar of prayer. Prayer is not a wishful activity but intentional. It’s a serious exercise. It’s communicating and spending time with God!

Prayer is warfare! Certain things in life will not give way until you spend time on your keens seeking the face of the Lord. Jesus said when you believe you will be able to receive! The word receive means “lambano” it means to actively possess your possessions! Prayer places us in contact with Almighty God, therefore, we can pull out whatever we desire and take possessions of our prosperity.

Paul tells us that we are to run until we “obtain.” The word “obtain” is the Greek word katalambano, which is a compound of the word’s kata and lambano. The word kata describes something that is coming downward, and the word lambano means to take or to seize something. The word katalambano can picture someone who has found something he has searched for his entire life. Rather than lose it or pass up the opportunity to possess it, he pounces on it with all his might, latching hold of it and seizing it with joy!  Therefore, when we pray according to the scriptures, we will see the sure manifold power of God through our petition by the rhema in the Word.

Prayer and the Word go hand in hand, we cannot successfully pray until we have spent time with the Word of God. Prayer isn’t a ritual that depends on closing our eyes and putting on holy faces. We don’t have to kneel or sit. We can pray while walking, driving, or working. God responds to a two-word cry for help in the middle of a busy afternoon, just like He does to a focused prayer time after reading Scripture in the morning. Praying doesn’t have to be complicated. God delights in any simple words we offer Him. In this month of fasting, never stop praying alongside. You shall see the travail of your soul. Amen

Confession:

I take possession of everything I have in Christ Jesus, Jesus destroyed death so I may live therefore, I walk in abundance and longevity in Jesus name. Amen.
