I SAY WAIT PATIENTLY
Then you will not become spiritually dull and different. Instead, you will follow the example of those who are going to inherit God’s promises because of their faith and patience.
Hebrews 6:12
Main Text:
First, let's admit that most humans really are impatient. We have become a product of our modern conveniences. We microwave "instant" foods that are ready to eat in mere seconds, not even minding the dangers involved especially on our body.
Our destiny in God has a specific time for it to be realized. However, because God’s timetable is in variance with ours, we decide to ignore it and would rather set our own time table for God to work with. If God promises you something, be prepared to wait for it or else your impatience will put you into trouble.
To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the heaven, Eccl. 3: 1. One classical example is Joseph. In his early teens, he already had a glimpse of his destiny. He knew God’s plan for his life although he did not know the details. How many of our teenagers today know God’s plan for their lives? God will give you a glimpse of your future when you are closer to Him. Joseph’s dream was not fulfilled in a day but it was in slavery, temptation, imprisonment and abandonment by Pharaoh’s butler.
Do you know that if Joseph had been prematurely released from prison, his dream would have not come to pass? He would have probably wanted to return to his family, that would have meant an end to his prime ministership, well that’s my opinion. Even his father and brothers would have died of hunger when famine hit the whole land. What we define as blessing at the wrong time and place is not of God. Follow God’s plan for your life. Don’t be like a seed planter who check on his seed in the ground to know if the seed is germinating. I tell you, that seed will die untimely.
Prayer: Guide me always O Lord
