LIFE

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
Ecclesiastes 3:11(ESV)

The chorus of the Ghanaian Song Life is short by Bernice Ofei reads thus “So you see my brother that life is so short. It passes so quickly and soon it’s gone. You just have one life to live on earth, so remember your creator while you have breath”.

God has put eternity in the heart of every man. He has placed a vacuum in our heart that only He can fill. Most of us today look for love in the wrong places, we seek recognition in the wrong places, we allow people to take advantage of us, people that don’t celebrate but tolerate us.

Only one man can give us all the love, recognition we need in life and that’s the man Jesus. He said my burden is light and my yoke is easy (Matthew 11:30). In every human, there’s an awareness that there’s something more than this transient world and with that awareness of eternity comes a hope that we can one day find a fulfillment that this world cannot afford.

James 4:14 “Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes” (ESV) Mark 8:34-38 “And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.” (KJV)

Our purpose in life must be to glorify God and enjoy fellowship with Him, have good and impactful relationships with others, work and have dominion on the earth. Jesus desires that we live for Him. The latter part of that song states “life is short. Life is really short; you only have one life to live on earth – before you know it it’s come and gone so make the most of it while you can.” The only way to make the most of life while on earth is to live for Jesus. Read Matt 11:28-30.

Confession: I declare, I live for God, I win souls into His kingdom. I am a child of God; I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Glory to God I’m blessed.
