THE POWER OF CONFESSION 1
"And so, dear brothers and sisters who belong to God and are partners with those called to heaven, think carefully about this Jesus whom we declare to be God's messenger and High Priest."
Hebrews 3:1, NLT
Main Text:
The above scripture makes us understand that Jesus is the Apostle/High priest of our profession. The word profession in the Greek means confession! Jesus is the High priest of our confession.
The word confession here doesn't only signify freedom from sin it also connotes agreeing with the Lord through the words of our lips. Are you ready to agree with the Lord in this year with your confessions? Rev 12:11 says, they overcame him by the blood and by the word of their testimony.
Satan is overcome by words. You don't overcome thoughts with thoughts, rather you overcome thoughts with words! You want to be an over comer in life, speak right words! It says in Job 6:25- "how forcible are right words." There was time in my life that negative words just flooded my heart. Thought s of death and frustrations in ministry were becoming so real and threatening. But I rose in my spirit man with anger and began to declare relevant scriptures against every corresponding negative thought. After, I began to sing praises and engaged in warm worship with the Holy Spirit, lo and behold, the negative thoughts disappeared and never had any hold on me again, Halleluiah!
You have the right to use the name of Jesus. He gave you the legal right or much better the power of the attorney. Power of the attorney means a written authorization to represent or act on another's behalf in private affairs, business, or some other legal matter. The person authorizing the other to act is the principal, grantor, or donor. Jesus gave you the right! Don't ever feel tired of using the name because you don't want to "disturb" the Lord. Confession is affirming something that we believe.
Prayer: Father, I speak life into my being that I live victoriously today in His name
