THE POWER OF WORDS IN THE MOUTH 1

“A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompense of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.”
Proverbs 12:14 (KJV)
Main Text:

The "mouth" denotes language, speech, declaration. "By the mouth of" is "by means of," "on the declaration of" (Luke 1:70; Acts 1:16). The Greek word for mouth is “Stoma”. Stoma means the edge of a sword. What sword is this? The word of God, therefore, one of the major purposes of the mouth is to declare your victory by the instrument of the Word of God.

Our words are important to God, the Word of God is paramount to our advancement in life, however, until we speak we cannot attain certain victories God has prepared for us. Your mouth is the edge of a sword, use that to your advantage, the mouth is not only for food or gossip, it’s vital to your prosperity, victorious life and success.  A man shall be satisfied with the fruits of his mouth simply means a man’s prosperity is on his tongue. James 3:5 “Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth! (Webster) The words of your lips have the power to make you or mar you.

Our words have the power to destroy and the power to build up, the power to live a prosperous life or the power to live a life of struggles Proverbs 12:6 “The words of the wicked kill; the speech of the upright saves.” (MSG). Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (KJV)

Confession: I am blessed, I speak right words, I choose life. I am blessed in the city and blessed in the country.

Prayer: My words receive power of the Holy Spirit
