WHAT IS MAN?
“What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels….
Psalm 8:4-5 (KJV)
Main Text:
Man is a tripartite being. 1 Thess. 5:23. It is important to note that the phrase “a little lower than the angels” in the original Hebrew text translates to Elohim. Therefore, man is a little lower than the Godhead. The Spirit gives man “God-consciousness” – the ability to communicate or have contact with God. The soul gives man “self-consciousness” – the ability to be a person. The soul is the center of the will, emotions and intellect. The body gives man “world-consciousness” – the ability through the senses to understand.
Who exactly is man? Man is a Spirit. Your spirit is the real you. The spirit is immortal. 2 Cor 4:16 Man is a Speaking spirit like God. When God created man, He breathed into man and man became a living soul. Man was above sin, death, hell and the grave.
According to Genesis 2:7, the breath referred to here is the result of God’s words of faith and life spoken into His man. Man was created with God’s dominion and authority, possessing the same ability to speak words of faith and life. You might wonder “Am I really a speaking spirit?” Job 22:28, Romans 4:17 & 2 Cor 4:13 show you that you’re a Speaking Spirit just like God.
God framed the worlds through His words. Now, it’s our turn according to Hebrews 11:3
We are the prophets of our own lives. Our words of faith and life determine our future, health, wealth and place in eternity.
Confession: I am a Speaking Spirit like God, therefore I declare, I am the head, and not the tail, my business thrives, I have all round abundance, I lack no good thing, I am prosperous! I am blessed! I am favored!
