YOU CARRY GOD’S PRESENCE
“And let them make me a sanctuary that I may dwell among them.â€
Exodus 25: 8
Main Text:
There is so much to say about God’s Ark of covenant in the Old Testament. The shortest way to describe what the Ark represented was the presence of God. In those days, nothing could withstand the Ark – nothing. Let’s see some instances.
In the Bible, there was a time that some warriors shouted so loudly that there was earth quake. Imagine how deafening the shout must have been before it could make the earth quake. Let’s see what happened – The warriors (Israelites) were in a battle with the Philistines and their enemies had defeated them so, they thought to themselves that the only way out of that embarrassment was the Ark. And what caused the quaking was that the Ark was brought into the war-front. Maybe you asked, what has the Ark so much got to do with such shout and the war? Well, like I said earlier, it stood for God’s own presence. This happened over and again. But something totally different happened later.
God told Jeremiah that a time would come when the Ark of the Covenant would no longer be remembered because God Himself would make His presence leave the Ark of Covenant and He would rather live in His people. Whao! What a stunning truth this is! It is so hard to comprehend – Jeremiah 3: 16, 17.
Beloved, that time is now. I am sure you have not seen the Ark of Covenant before and you are not bothered. Infact, history has it that it is missing, has the raiders stolen it, may be?
I have to say that if sin has caused the disappearance of God’s presence in your life, then you need to act fast to ask for mercy. His presence can’t dwell in a sinful habitation. Live a life that glorifies God. Let His Word be your guide so that His presence can be retained in you.
Prayer: Thank You Father for making me Your habitation now.
